This medium-sized whitefish (standard length at 3 years: 266-315 mm, mean = 289 mm) exhibits weak pigmentation on the pectoral fin and average pigmentation on all other fins and the body. The flanks above the lateral line display a greenish-blue color, with none to a few small pigmented dots on the scales. It features a pointed snout tip, triangular eye sockets, and numerous moderately long gill rakers (longest gill raker: 13.2-16.4% HL; total gill rakers: 33-37).
