This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: medial teeth on premaxilla 21 or 22; principal dorsal-fin rays 11; dorsal-fin first pterygiophore at a vertical anterior to 25th vertebra neural spine posterolateral process of parurohyal, about 50% of anterior ceratohyal length; opercular odontodes 25-30; autopalatine fenestra, about 75% of its area; interopercular odontodes 18-21; straight inner margin of frontal; ascending process of opercle, about 70% length of opercular patch of odontodes; dentary teeth 4-5 (Ref. 137619).
