Etymology: Ituglanis: Greek, itys, ityos = circle + Greek, glanis = a fish that can eat the bait without touching the hook; a cat fish (Ref. 45335); crispim: Name 'crispim' in reference to the local tragedy-legend 'Cabeça de Cuia'. Crispin, who murdered his mother, was cursed and turned into a horrific aquatic creature with a gigantic 'cuia' (bowlshaped) head, condemned to perpetually wander the Parnaíba River and only to be
redeemed after devouring seven virgins named Maria. A noun in apposittion.
