Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 6; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 30 - 32; Anale stekels: 2; Anale zachte stralen: 7; Wervels: 25. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: five vesicular mental barbels on the chin; 11 or 12 swim-bladder appendages, and the ventral margin of the sagitta head expanded into a distinct convexity (Ref. 138397).
