Etymology: Sturisomatichthys: German, sturio = sturgeon, 1525 + Greek, soma = body + greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335); reinae: Named for Mrs. Ruth Gisela Reina, late curator of fishes at STRI for her significant contributions to the knowledge of fishes and her invaluable support and assistance to numerous ichthyologists worldwide during her tenure (Ref. 132346).
